1. Honda Launches CR-Z Across Europe

 

 

The Honda CR-Z is an all-new sporty hybrid coupe, encapsulating a petrol-electric engine combination with a 6-speed manual gearbox. To mark the debut of this unique vehicle, which combines driver enjoyment with low emissions, Honda Motor Europe has teamed up with Wieden + Kennedy London to create a pan-European advertising campaign across 29 markets.

2. D-Day Landings, Burlesque Dancing and a Bouncy Castle - Live Every Litre Begins

 

 

In May, filming of "Live Every Litre" began in Amsterdam, Holland. The one month European road trip begins in the Dutch capital, which will still be buzzing from its annual "Queen's Day" celebration, making it the perfect launch pad for the innovative film. In just six weeks, 986 people from 28 countries submitted their ideas of what "Live Every Litre" meant to them, and now 13 people have been cast to star in the social media activated film which will be shot in eight different countries across Europe throughout May 2010.

3. Honda Affiliate to Open New Safety Driving Centre in Singapore

 

 

In June, Singapore Safety Driving Centre Ltd. (SSDC), a Honda affiliate company, held a ceremony to commemorate the official opening of its new safety driving centre which includes the first full-scale multistorey driving circuit in Southeast Asia. Equipped with a 3-story driving circuit that makes effective use of limited land, the new facility is the only safety driving centre in Singapore which can provide training and testing for riders and drivers of all types of vehicles.

4. Guangqi Honda to Expand Automobile Production Capacity

 

 

Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a Honda automobile production and sales joint venture in China, announced plans to expand its annual production capacity from the current 360,000 units to 480,000 units in order to meet continuously growing demand in the Chinese market.

5. ASIMO Applauds Young Scientists at Belgian Robot Festival

 

 

In April, the New ASIMO travelled to Belgium where it attended a three-day festival celebrating science and robotics. The event was designed for children and young families to learn about science in a fun and engaging way.

6. ASIMO Waves the Flag for Turkey and Japan's Close Friendship

 

 

ASIMO travelled to Turkey in May to attend the country's national student robot building contest and celebrate the close cultural ties between Turkey and Japan. 2010 is the ‘Year of Japan' in Turkey and marks the 120th anniversary of a close friendship between the two countries.

7.  ASIMO Cheers on Finalists of Honda's Romanian Green Car Challenge

 

 

Fresh from its recent trip to Turkey, ASIMO travelled to nearby Romania to attend a green driving challenge organized by Honda Trading Romania. The three day event involved 18 finalists, in nine Honda cars, battling it out to travel 480km around the country using the least amount of fuel.

8. ASIMO Heads To The Swiss Alps To Champion Science

 

At the end of May, ASIMO made its way to picturesque Lausanne to attend a major festival celebrating science and robotics. ASIMO was invited to the two-day event, held at the EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), to act as a science ambassador at the opening of a new state-of-the-art learning centre. The festival had been organised by the university to engage with prospective science students and attracted nearly 30,000 visitors.
